Hierarchical 3D SrWO 4 :Eu 3? /Bi 3? superstructures were synthesized by the sonochemical process. The SrWO 4 :Eu 3? /Bi 3? phosphors were characterized by XRD, FTIR, SEM, and fluorescence spectrophotometer. The XRD and FTIR results indicated that the samples have the pure tetragonal phase. The SEM images showed that the samples have hierarchical structure composing of lots of similar nanosheets with the thickness of about 20 nm and the width in the range of 0.3-1.5 lm. Under the excitation of 266 nm, SrWO 4 :Eu 3? /Bi 3? phosphors showed characteristic emission bands originating from the 5 D 0 ? 7 F J (J = 1, 2, 3 and 4) transitions of Eu 3? ions. The codoped Bi 3? ions highly enhanced the emission intensity of Eu 3? , suggesting the efficient energy transfer between Bi 3? and Eu 3? . The energy transfer from Bi 3? to Eu 3? was mainly through exchange interaction which is located at the nearest neighbour lattices.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
