Abstract-We detail the design of autonomous golf cars which were used in public trials in Singapore's Chinese and Japanese Gardens, for the purpose of raising public awareness and gaining user acceptance of autonomous vehicles. The golf cars were designed to be robust, reliable, and safe, while operating under prolonged durations. Considerations that went in to the overall system design included the fact that any member of the public had to not only be able to easily use the system, but to also not have the option to use the system in an unintended manner. This paper details the hardware and software components of the golf cars with these considerations, and also how the booking system and mission planner facilitated users to book for a golf car from any of ten stations within the gardens. We show that the vehicles performed robustly throughout the prolonged operations with a small localization variance, and that users were very receptive from the user survey results.
Background/Aims: Clinically, biliary obstruction is often accompanied by progressive inflammation. Dehydroandrographolide (DA) possesses anti-inflammatory properties. However, the anti-inflammatory activities of DA in cholestatic liver injury remain unclear. Methods: Mice were administered with DA by intraperitoneal injection after bile duct ligation (BDL) on day 1. Then mice were subjected to an ileocecal vein injection of lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Liver function markers, histology, pro-inflammatory cytokine levels, NF-κB activation and fibrosis formation were evaluated in BDL mice with LPS. LPS binding to primary Kupffer cells was examined by high-content cytometers. Results: DA was shown to greatly lower initially higher than normal levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and total bilirubin (TBIL) in the serum and liver of BDL mice with LPS. DA exerted hepatic protective effects that were also confirmed by prolonged survival of BDL mice with LPS. Liver histopathology showed reduced inflammatory cellular infiltration, bile duct proliferation, and biliary necrosis with DA treatment. Furthermore, DA reduced the expression levels of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α and interleukin (IL)-6 in liver tissue and plasma and showed decreased NF-κB activation in BDL mice with LPS. DA could prevent LPS binding to primary Kupffer cells in the normal liver and BDL mice liver. DA also suppressed LPS-stimulated inflammatory responses by blocking the interaction between LPS and TLR4 in primary Kupffer cells and human LX-2 cells, thereby inhibiting NF-κB activation. Conclusion: DA inhibition of inflammation against liver damage following BDL with LPS may be a promising agent for the treatment of cholestatic liver injury.
Owing to its outstanding performance and rich features, Smart phones have been the rapid development over the past decade, more and more people love to use its mobile Application to process the day-to-day affairs instead of PC, including the normal call and Short Messaging Service, Personal Information Management, send and receive e-mail, browse Web, multimedia Applications and online shopping. In April 2011, the Taipei people began to use the free smart phone Apps “Good Travel in Taipei” to check the real-time traffic information of Taipei City Department of Transportation and get the best route plans according to your location, the Apps software brings together road, bus, subway, bike, high-speed rail, airport, parking and other traffic information, can be easily, simple and fast delivery to the public. The papers will introduce the case of “Good Travel in Taipei” firstly, then Zhengzhou is as an example in China to illustrate the Application of integrated traffic information service system for public travel based on smart phones, we hope it can provide a reference for the future construction of the similar mobile App of traffic information service system in the other cities for public travel
