A method to calculate the sputtering yield energy distribution based on the ion energy dependence of total sputtering yields is given and is used to show that the "cutoff" yield energy distribution published in Physical Review B in 1988 ͓G. Falcone, Phys. Rev. B 38, 6398 ͑1988͔͒ is not tenable.
The exploitation of mining area is usually accompanied with surface subsistence, which may threaten the structure belonging to this area. So it is indispensable to evaluate the consequence and predict a relatively precise sedimentation value before the excavation. In this paper, theoretical calculation and numerical simulation are used to estimate the subsistence of Zhaofeng gob area, Jilin province in China. Comparing with the conclusions of two methods, the maximum sedimentation value and its position are given, which will contribute to the establishment of the restoration schemes in this area.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
