2395The pattern of hydrogen bonding exhibited by mefloquine hydrochloride demonstrates that mefloquine should be able to hydrogen bond with molecules of biological importance such as transport proteins or cellular 'effectors' of antimalarial action. Unlike fluorescein dipropionate, the title compound did not form an inclusion compound with the solvent acetone. The diffraction analysis reveals that both OH groups in fluorescein participated in esterification.
