It is necessary desired that men's suit frequently worn at working conditions and special days should be cozy and comfortable. Consequently suits are produced according to generated size charts for various body structures. However there is not any production intended for men practicing sports for body built and having muscular bodies. In order to generate size chart to meet such people, a survey has been applied to persons doing bodybuilding sports and their ideas and detecting the problems. For finding solution to these questions a special size chart was developed necessary for production of suit by measurements taken from such people. The results were compared with normal body sizes.
The issue of clothing is one of the problems that come with ageing. Despite the need, there is no athlete for women aged 65 and over in the market. In this study, first, a survey was conducted on the issuesfaced by women over the age of 65 while using athlete. The functional and comfortable special athlete for summer and winter was designed to solve and eliminate the problems by analysing the obtained results. In the study, first, 100% cotton, 100% bamboo, 100% viscose, cotton/bamboo and cotton/viscose blended fabrics were produced in a single jersey knitting structurefor summer athlete. 100% cotton fabric was produced in the interlock knitting structure for winter athlete. Second, these fabrics were pre-treated, and the finishing treatments to provide some functional properties such as softness (cationic, microemulsion and macroemulsion silicones) and antibacterial properties were applied to these fabrics. After the finishing treatments, tests and analyses were carried out, and the fabric weight, elasticity and bursting strength tests were carried out to determine the physical properties of the fabrics. To determine the comfort properties of the fabrics, air permeability, water vapour permeability and thermal comfort properties tests were performed. According to the results, the functional and comfortable summer and winter athlete were determined and produced for older women. At the end of the study, a clothing trial was also made with the produced woman athletes.
Clothing fabrics go through a series of stages before production stage. Many processes such as bleaching, dyeing, etc. are made with various chemicals. These chemicals must finally be removed from the product by washing. However, it is not possible to completely eliminate some chemicals from the surface. Surfaces on textile that are harmful to health when in contact with skin are at risk in terms of cloth production. In particular, the surfaces used in baby and child outfits should be examined more rigorously. Within the context of "Textile Ecology", harmful chemicals used in clothing production, especially in the last 20 years, have been reduced as much as possible and acceptable limit values have been determined. Therefore, it is expected that the fabrics to be used in baby clothes are subjected to various tests and their compliance with the limit values is examined. Baby skin has a much thinner, less sturdy and delicate feature than adults. For this reason, it is important that the materials used in baby products should not have any risk factors for health. It is desired that the model and material properties must be composed of materials that do not irritate the skin, give a feeling of comfort, and do not trigger allergic disorders.Within the scope of this study, it is aimed to give general information about Oeko-Tex and ecological textile issue, to research the test standards should be infants clothing under 3 years from past to present and to see the rates that can damage the skin and health.
In this study, the effect of stitch types (those commonly used in apparel production) on antibacterial activity was investigated. Determination of best stitch types through hygienic environments, where dangerous situations exist such as infection was intended. For this purpose, the antibacterial activity of various stitches was tested within the framework of the ASTM E2149 standard. Bleached reusable clinical aprons` fabrics, those comprising 65% polyester-35% viscon mixture were named as alpaca weave fabric. Onto these alpaca fabrics, 3 different stitches with various yarns (3 threads overlock + chain stitch, lockstitch with lap felled seam and 5 threads overlock) were applied. Evaluation of findings showed that there are no significant differences according to stitch types.
