Within the framework of continuum mechanics, the calculations for shock interaction between a steel ball and a target made of transparent armoring with a velocity of 3000 m/s are made by means of computer modelling. The target consists of three layers. The front layer of transparent armoring is made of ALON, the middle layer is made of strained glass, the lower one is made of polycarbonate. The angle of a striker approaching a target and the thickness of a layer made of strained glass influencing a process of penetrating a target were investigated.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
