The article is devoted to the study of the electrical characteristics of the dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) of a symmetric actuator at reduced pressures. The analysis of the system “power source - actuator - DBD” is carried out. The dependences of the frequency of the supply voltage, at which the voltage resonance at the exposed electrodes of the actuator of a given geometry, vs. air pressure, are built. The power of the dielectric barrier discharge, the capacity and quality factor of the system vs. the pressure in the pressure chamber are determined. It was found that with decreasing pressure, the fraction of the energy of the DBD spent on the production of a synthetic jet increases significantly.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
