Zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV) remains one of the most widespread and destructive viruses affecting plants from Cucurbitaceae family in Ukraine as well as in other countries. ZYMV during the early stages of plant development can cause significant losses in yield. In current project the possibility of seed transmission of Ukrainian ZYMV isolates was tested on Cucurbita pepo plants in insect-free greenhouse. The rate was assessed by ELISA and RT-PCR. Only one isolate ZYMV-14P showed seedborne transmission with transmission rate 2,6%. This is the first detected seed-transmitted isolate in Ukraine. Phylogenetic analysis defined ZYMV-14P isolate as member of group A. This isolate was clustered with other known Ukrainian isolates and isolates from Hungary, Czech Republic, Austria and France within subgroup AI.
The objective of this study is to assess the criteria for metastatic involvement of the LN (MLN) according to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and to identify the most prognostically significant. The MRI data of 159 removed LN were compared with the results of a morphological study of the resected preparations. ROC- analysis (Receiver Operating Characteristic curve) was used to determine the diagnostic performance of threshold values. The test performance was evaluated depending on the area under the ROC curve — the AUC parameter (Area Under Curve). In order to evaluate the prognostic significance of MRI predictors for metastatic involvement of the LN, uni-and multivariate regression logistic analyses were performed. According to the results of multivariate analysis, the configuration index is less than or equal to 1.65, the absence of a signal from the fatty tissue of the hilum of LN, and perinodular edema are the most prognostically significant criteria for metastatic involvement of the LN (p < 0.05).
In the article the contents of different oncogenous strains of human papillomavirus (HPV) have been studied: in 50 patients with non-resectable cervical carcinoma, 26 patients before chemotherapy: systematic (cisplatin and gemcitabin) and local with injection of gemcitabin into uterine arteries. It has been established, that among non-resectable cervical carcinomas HPV-16 is the most prevalent type, whereas the other types are scarcely diagnosed. The application of 2 chemotherapy courses, even if one of them is local with the injection of cytostatic into uterine arteries, does not lead to the eradication of HPV oncogenous strains in the patients with non-resectable cervical carcinoma.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
