We determine the bearing strength of many-row bolted joints of layered carbon fiber-reinforced plastic composites according to the level of strains in the vicinity of a single (isolated) hole subjected to contact loading through the bolt. According to results of the tests obtained by the method of digital correlation of images, we construct a fracture diagram on the stress-strain coordinates and establish admissible bearing stresses corresponding to an increase in the residual strains of the diameter of the hole by 2%.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
