The study examines the period of the Great Depression and analyzes several measures taken by the US President Roosevelt’s government that allowed the country to get out of the crisis. An analysis and proof of the correctness of the measures chosen to exit from the crisis was conducted using econometric models and the use of statistics. Techniques for overcoming crises are relevant for all countries. This study adapts an innovative perspective in that it used the sequence of the Cobb–Douglas type function including different types of factors, and applied fuzzy regression methods.
The authors point out that R2 determination coefficient is high enough for the «manufacturing industry» model. However, the increase of employment in «manufacturing» will not lead to a significant increase of the gross added value. The situation is even more complicated for the «agricultural sector». According to the estimates, current investments will not provide a significant increase in the production growth rate. By adding the crop acreage of the region to calculations, the model still shows insignificant influence to the production growth rate. The paper demonstrates the great dependence between the "agricultural sector" production and the number of fixed assets.
The article is devoted to a socio-economic study of the state and development of the economy of the Altai Territory in the context of the coronavirus pandemic and the consequences of the sanctions imposed on the initiative of the European Union and the United States since 2014. As an objective assessment of the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and sanctions on the region’s economy, this article proposes a mechanism for using econometric methods in the process of economic and mathematical modeling of the gross regional product in order to show the relationship and interdependence between the gross regional product and the identified main factors directly affecting it influence. Using the Cobb-Douglas production function and a linear multiple regression model, the article analyzes the relationship and interdependence of the gross regional product on the cost of fixed assets, investments, the number of employed people. The results obtained made it possible to formulate a conclusion about the very insignificant effectiveness of the impact of sanctions measures and the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic on the gross regional product.
