2R,3R)-1,4-dimethoxy-1,1,4,4-tetraphenylbutane-2,3-diol has found diverse applications in asymmetric organic synthesis, and this paper briefly introduced the progress of its synthetic methods from the perspective of green chemistry. Our group developed new synthetic methods based on region-selective transformation of (2R,3R)-1,1,4,4tetraphenylbutanetetraol. In this preparation, methanol was used as a methylating reagent and common inorganic alkali liquor was used instead of DDQ (2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyano-1,4-benzoquinone) and LiAlH4.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
