The background of this paper is to clarify an alternative to Japanese compact city scenario in sprawl areas of metropolitan area. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to evaluate effective scenario. The method is scenario planning as a case study of Ibaraki City. This paper considered four scenarios; they are scenario to utilize vacant land, scenario to withdraw from the suburban, scenario to accumulate on one pole, scenario to accumulate on multipolar. Among the four scenarios, this paper calculated them by the walkability indicator. As a result, this paper evaluated the "scenario to utilize vacant land" as smart decline.
This study aims to clarify the impacts on urban fabrics of the "tourism gentrification caused by simple accommodations" in the central area of Kyoto city by investigating the case study of the Shutoku District from 2015 to 2019. This paper clarified the following three points; those are (1) the gentrification which occurred from 2015 to 2019 in Kyoto City, (2) the change of the entire urban fabrics due to the gentrification, (3) the changes in the entire urban fabrics, including the simple accommodations from 2015 to 2019. The results allow us to study city planning regulation for gentrification.
