“…NMR data (see Experimental) in both C 6 D 6 and THF-d 8 (THF is tetrahydrofuran) are indicative of the pseudo-C s symmetry of (I) at ambient temperature. This fluxional behaviour is rather typical for the class of compounds to which complex (I) belongs (see, for example, Krut'ko et al, 1996aKrut'ko et al, ,b, 1998Krut'ko et al, , 2003Krut'ko et al, , 2004Krut'ko et al, , 2005Krut'ko et al, , 2006Nie et al, 2008) and is, actually, a degenerate interconversion of the Ti1-C11-C5-C4-C1-N1-(Ti1) six-membered pseudo-metallacycle. The 'remains' of this flexibility, of interest, are also noticeable even in the solid state, where this interconversion is 'frozen' and (I) is represented by two enantiomorphic conformers.…”

“…1H-Imidazol(in)-2-yl side-chain functionalized cyclopentadienes (Cp) were introduced as ligands into the organometallic chemistry of the Group 4 transition metals not long ago (Krut'ko et al, 2006;Nie et al, 2008). However, in all of the Ti (and Zr) complexes described in these papers, the imidazol(in)e part of the ligands possesses methyl groups at the N1 atoms and the M-N bonds are, in actual fact, coordination ones.…”

“…It has been prepared from bis(N,N-dimethyl- (C 16 Among them, there are two dinuclear structures where two Zr-atoms are linked with two bridging µ-Cl-atoms (Enders et al, 1996 andNie et al, 2008; in both cases Zr-atoms exhibit CN 6), two monomeric complexes with a pentacoordinated Zr centre (Nifant'ev et al, 1998 andKrut'ko et al, 2004), and, finally, three monomeric complexes with a hexacoordinated Zr centre (Paolucci et al, 2003;Krut'ko et al, 2004;Krut'ko et al, 2007). Of interest and despite of the different nature of the "sixth" n-donor ligand opposing the Cp-group [a tetrahydrothiophene molecule (Krut'ko et al, 2004), a pyridine molecule (Krut'ko et al, 2007), or a pendant OH-group (Paolucci et al, 2003)], the structural motif of the latter three complexes is very similar to that of I.…”
