Abstract:Conductometry is employed to measure the critical micellization concentrations of homologous sodium monoalkyl sulfosuccinates with double-charged surface-active anions and alkyl radicals R containing 10-14 carbon atoms (ROO ë CH 2 CH ( SO 3 Na ) COONa). The degrees of counterion binding with micelles and the Gibbs energy ∆ G m of micellization are calculated. The incorporation of an additional ionogenic group into a surfactant molecule somewhat decreases ∆ G m . For the examined series of surfactants, the incr… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
