Abstract: Background and Aims Total body hypothermia (cooling) improves outcome in hypoxic-ischaemic encephalopathy (HIE).This study tested the hypothesis that cooling affects the liver by examining whether cooling during HIE was associated with differences in clinically relevant biomarkers of hepatic metabolism.
