Abstract:This paper focuses on optimization of electrode shape in polymerstabilized blue phase or nano-structured liquid crystal composites to lower operating voltage and improve light efficiency. The electrode with taper angle of reverse elliptic shape decreases operating voltage by 18.9% and improves transmittance by 29.8% compared to that in conventional electrode structure. Additionally, the performance of the device such as contrast ratio and viewing angle characteristic is improved.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
