Abstract: Olanzapine is one of the first-line antipsychotic medications but it usually induces metabolic side effects, characterized by obesity. We previously indicated that olanzapine leads to hyperphagia through the effects of a proinflammatory cytokine, macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) in the hypothalamus.
