Abstract

Extensive annotated bibliographies have guided academic researchers over several years and in various disciplines, providing key resources to assist in thedevelopmentofnewideas. However, less common are published annotated bibliographies oneffective teaching resources, both general to teaching across various disciplines aswell asspecific toeach discipline, thatguide the academic in theteaching enterprise. This chapter focuses ona tool, the teaching resource portfolio, thathelps the graduate student preparing for an academic career including teaching, the new faculty member desiring additional teaching resources, theacademic wishing to have resources thatsupport discipline-specific scholarship of teaching and learninginitiatives, and the educational developer needing references tosupport his or her clients in teaching.
