Abstract: Gas-filled hollow core fibers allow the generation of single-cycle pulses at megahertz repetition rates. When coupled with difference frequency generation, they can be an ideal driver for generating carrier-envelope phase stable, octave-spanning pulses in the short-wavelength infrared.
