1SXPS: A DEEP SWIFT X-RAY TELESCOPE POINT SOURCE CATALOG WITH LIGHT CURVES AND SPECTRA

Abstract: We present the 1SXPS (Swift-XRT Point Source) catalog of 151,524 X-ray point-sources detected by the Swift-XRT in 8 years of operation. The catalog covers 1905 square degrees distributed approximately uniformly on the sky. We analyze the data in two ways. First we consider all observations individually, for which we have a typical sensitivity of ∼ 3×10 −13 erg cm −2 s −1 (0.3-10 keV). Then we co-add all data covering the same location on the sky: these images have a typical sensitivity of ∼ 9×10 −14 erg cm −2 … Show more

“…We extracted Swift count rates, spectra, and spectral response files for each individual ObsID using the online Swift/XRT data products generator 10 (Evans et al 2007(Evans et al , 2009(Evans et al , 2014. The spectra were extracted (and fitted) in the 0.3-10 keV band using the default event grades (0-12 for PC mode and 0-2 for WT mode).…”

“…3XMM is also complementary to other recent X-ray catalogues, such as the Chandra source catalogue mentioned above, and the Swift-X-ray Telescope (XRT) Point Source (1SXPS) catalogue (Evans et al 2014b) of 151 524 X-ray point sources detected with the Swift-XRT over eight years of operation. 1SXPS has a sky coverage nearly 2.5 times that of 3XMM, but the effective area of the XRT is less than a tenth of each of the telescopes on board XMM-Newton (Longinotti 2014).…”

“…Each source has been addressed using its SDSS name (column 1). The angular separation d OX between the SDSS and 1SXPS coordinates is reported (column 2) together with the 90% error radius R X of the 1SXPS source (column 3) provided by Evans et al (2014). We have also reported the angular separation of the SDSS source from the FIRST (d OR , column 4) and the WISE (d OI , column 5) associated counterparts, respectively.…”

“…The value that we computed, which is reported in Table 1, is very similar to the one (z=0.735) given in the SDSS. The values of the unabsorbed flux F X over the 0.3-10 keV band (column 11) come from Evans et al (2014). The corresponding values of the X-ray luminosity L X (column 12) were computed from the for-…”
