Abstract:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C5H2Cl2N2O2, consists of two crystallographically independent molecules. The pyridine ring in each molecule is essentially planar, with maximum deviations of 0.004 (4) and 0.007 (4) Å. Short Cl⋯O [3.09 (3) and 3.13 (4) Å] and Cl⋯Cl [3.38 (12) Å] contacts were observed. No significant intermolecular interactions were observed in the crystal packing.
“…1). The bond distances and angles in the title compound agree very well with the corresponding bond distances and angles reported in a closely related compound (Fun et al, 2011).…”

The title compound, C6HCl6N, lies on a mirror plane, the asymmetric unit conataining a half-molecule. Weak intramolecular C—H⋯Cl contacts are observed.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
