“…The supracrustal rafts mainly comprise mafic granulites and amphibolites with a few ultramafic, pelitic, felsic, and BIF interlayers (Geng et al, ; Polat, Kusky, Li, & Fryer, ). Recent zircon dating of felsic gneiss yielded the magmatic age of c. 2.90 Ga and metamorphic age of c. 2.50 Ga (Liou, Guo, Huang, & Fan, ) while mafic granulites, amphibolites, and BIFs from Zunhua and Saheqiao areas show similar magmatic crystallization ages of 2.61–2.52 Ga and two groups of metamorphic ages of 2.53–2.47 and 1.97–1.83 Ga (Fu et al, ; Guo et al, ; Yang & Wei, ; Zhang et al, ). The garnet‐bearing mafic granulites were dated to yield garnet–whole rock Lu–Hf isochron ages of 1,766.6 ± 7.0 and 1,787 ± 22 Ma (Yang & Wei, ).…”

“…A C C E P T E D M A N U S C R I P T (Nutman et al, 2011;Han et al, 2014; and our unpublished data) and the ca. 2.9 Ga metavolcanic rocks and TTG gneisses in the Caochang area (Liou et al, 2017) of the Eastern Hebei Province, indicating that the Neoarchean lithological assemblages in the southeastern zone were most likely developed in a tectonic setting of active continental margin. The terrigenous sediments from the paleo-continental block recycled into the mantle along with the subduction of oceanic slab, which may be a main source of K in the sanukitoids.…”

“…The DTTG gneisses show similar magmatic crystallization ages of 2.55-2.50 Ga and metamorphic ages of 2.47-2.31 Ga [25,45]. Recently, ~2.9 Ga magmatic event in Zunhua was identified by the results of a comprehensive isotopic investigation of zircons from metamorphosed felsic gneisses and amphibolites [46]. The supracrustal rock series comprise mainly mafic granulites and amphibolites with a few ultramafic, pelitic and Banded Iron Formations (BIF) interlayers [47].…”
