Abstract: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic and relapsing skin disorder with a high prevalence worldwide. Cellular abnormalities associated with AD include epidermal hyperplasia and Th2-driven skin inflammation. Lipid composition of the stratum corneum (SC) in AD patients differs from that of healthy individuals.
