2D/3D CMR tissue tracking versus CMR tagging in the assessment of spontaneous T2DM rhesus monkeys with isolated diastolic dysfunction

Abstract: BackgroundSpontaneous T2DM in rhesus monkeys manifests as isolated diastolic dysfunction in the early stage of diabetic cardiomyopathy, similar to humans. Myocardial deformation measurements have emerged as a superior way to measure left ventricular (LV) function in the early stage of cardiac dysfunction, making it possible to further evaluate early-stage LV dysfunction in spontaneous T2DM rhesus monkeys.MethodsSpontaneous T2DM rhesus monkeys with isolated diastolic dysfunction (T2DM-DD, n = 10) and correspond… Show more

“…The results showed similar associations between DCM and myocardial dysfunction as STE, but with higher costs. These studies go beyond the purpose of our review 7,37,38,43,53‐63 . The principal advantages and limitations of CMR compared to STE and TDI are showed in Table 2.…”

“…NHP models show most of the same symptoms as humans, and polygenic models may replicate human diseases. Therefore, NHP models can be treated as a critical translational bridge between basic studies in rodent models and clinical studies in humans …”

“…Therefore, NHP models can be treated as a critical translational bridge between basic studies in rodent models and clinical studies in humans. 8 Proteomics is an emerging tool that includes a thorough study of qualitative and quantitative profiling of the proteins present in different types of clinical specimens, including body fluids (serum, urine, cerebrospinal fluid, etc. ), tissues, and cells.…”
