36-4: Effective Surface Treatment on the Cover Glass for Auto-Interior Applications

Abstract: AG glass demonstrated strong scratch resistance and mechanical strength similar to Gorilla Glass® without AG. Surface treatment optimization needs to consider the main attributes: ambient CR, sparkle, and resolution of the display with suitable surface treatment for the Auto Interior display applications

“…We have developed the AG surface on Corning® Gorilla® Glass by using a chemical etching method that enable ultra-low sparkle performance suitable for high resolution display up to 300 PPI as the other LS AG suitable for <200 PPI resolution. AG glass optical properties are analyzed: SCE/SCI, transmission haze, gloss, distinctness of image (DOI), and sparkle [1,2,3]. The balance of these five metrics is the key to maximizing the benefits of AG for display readability, tactility on the glass surface, and the aesthetic appearance of high-performance touch displays in the Auto-Interior design.…”
