3D Casson fluid flow past a porous linearly stretching sheet with convective boundary condition

Abstract: In the present problem a magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) three dimensional Casson fluid flow past a porous linearly stretching sheet is investigated, introducing convective boundary condition at the surface where the thermal conductivity of the fluid varies linearly with respect to the temperature. Computations are performed for the velocity and temperature fields for different parameters. Spectral Relaxation Method (SRM) is used to solve the governing equations. The present results are compared with existing limite… Show more

“…These fluids have been found to be accurately applicable to silicon suspensions, suspensions of bentonite in water and lithographic varnishes used for printing inks. The flow or/and heat transfer of a Casson fluid about different geometries have been reported by several researchers [11][12][13][14][15][16][17]. Further, at low shear rates when blood flows through small vessels, the blood flow is described by the Casson fluid model (McDonald [18]; Shaw et al [19]).…”

“…Recently, heat and mass transfer behavior of Casson fluid past an exponentially permeable stretching surface in the presence of thermal radiation, magnetic field, viscous dissipation, heat source and chemical reaction has been discussed by Raju et al [19]. Mahanta and Shaw et al [20] investigated magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) three-dimensional Casson fluid flow past a porous linearly stretching sheet subject to convective boundary condition at the surface where the thermal conductivity of the fluid varies linearly with temperature. The idea of Spectral Relaxation Method (SRM) in Motsa and Mukukula [21] was adopted to describe the 3-dimensional fluid flow.…”

“…Mixed convection flow of non-Newtonian fluid over a rotating cone was discussed by Nadeem and Saleem (2014). Recently, the effect of radiation and porosity parameter on MHD three dimensional Casson fluid flow over a linearly stretching sheet was studied by Mahanta and Shaw (2015). Heat and mass transfer on an unsteady boundary layer flow over a stretching vertical slendering cylinder was reported by Patil et al (2015).…”
