3D-printing on textiles – an investigation on adhesion properties of the produced composite materials

Abstract: The actual paper is related to adhesive properties of 3D objects printed on cotton textile fabrics. For practical applications of 3D prints in the textile sector, the adhesion of the printed object on the textile substrate is an important issue. In the current study, two different types of polymers are printed on cotton – polylactide acid (PLA) and polyamide 6.6 (Nylon). Altogether six cotton fabrics differing in structure, weight and thickness are evaluated. Also, the effect of washing and enzymatic desizing … Show more

“…Grothe et al [45] investigated the feasibility of 3D printing resin on different textile substrates, and observed that the textile substrate was too thick and had a smooth surface, which is hard to print onto since the resin does not adhere to it. In another study, Gorlachova et al [46] discussed the adhesion properties of PLA and Nylon printing on cotton fabric, and found that PLA shows the best adhesion with high printing temperatures and low printing distance, and hydrophobicity polymers exhibit better adhesion than hydrophilic polymers when substrates are made of hydrophilic textile fibers such as cotton. In addition, wear resistance also should be considered for textiles [47].…”

The style analysis method of 3D furniture model based on depth measurement learning is integrated with scene synthesis based on style consistency retrieval, and the corresponding home synthesis prototype system is designed and implemented [27]. From the perspective of software development, this paper introduces the composition module and important data structure of the system and expounds the implementation effect of the main functions of the system through an example.…”
