Abstract:In article number https://doi.org/10.1002/smll.201801145, Jeong‐Hyun Cho and co‐workers review the detection mechanisms in sub‐millimeter scale three‐dimensional (3D) sensors that exhibit unique spatial sensing capabilities based on their physical configuration. The review draws parallels between biological and man‐made 3D sensors based on their geometry and sensory functionalities to provide vital clues for the further advancement of 3D sensing mechanisms.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
