Abstract:Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a common disease, mostly inherited, with a prevalence of 1:500. Cornerstone of the clinical management of HCM patients is stratifying the risk of sudden cardiac death (SCD) which is the most frightening complication despite its relatively low incidence (0,9% per year). Although mathematical risk scores, as proposed by ESC, are the most used to assess the probability of arrhythmic complications leading to SCD, they have been associated with low sensitivity, precluding some h… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
