49.4: High Power Dimming Control for a Large Area LCD Backlight

Abstract: A new method of high voltage dimming control is proposed and tested for the multi-lamps backlight of a high power system. Direct switching without a feedback circuit at the lamp-load lines controls the lamp current for high power dimming.
