5-Methylpyrazine-2-carboxamide

Abstract: The title compound, C6H7N3O, is nearly planar, with a dihedral angle of 2.14 (11)° between the pyrazine ring and the mean plane of the carboxamide group [C—C(=O)—N]. In the crystal, molecules are linked via pairs of N—H...O hydrogen bonds forming inversion dimers with an R 2 2(8) ring motif.
