Abstract:This paper presents the experimental results of a novel radio over fiber (RFoF) architecture that is capable of transmitting data at 20 Gb/s over a 600 km fiber. Such high bit rates are required by 5G systems for longhaul communication. This is accomplished by overcoming the limitation of single mode fibers (SMF) of power attenuation and chromatic dispersion. This is achieved by interspersing sections of the SMF with dispersion compensating filter (DCF) and embedding midway of the fiber length with chirped fib… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
