A battery of tests for fitting hearing aid to single sided deafness client – a case report

Abstract: For a patient with single-sided deafness (SSD), it was observed that a hearing aid programmed to unmasked thresholds resulted in no intolerance to amplified speech and eliminated a sensation of vibration. Further, the binaural advantage was assessed using localization and speech in noise tests and the programmed settings were found to be beneficial in the aided condition compared to the unaided condition.
