The ever-growing smart applications will expand the Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem to connect over 75 billion devices by 2025. IoT ecosystems comprise sensors that act as data suppliers and applications where monetary transactions are required to compensate the data producers. This signifies the importance of IoT payments and marketplaces to facilitate micro-transactions of billions of connected devices in the IoT ecosystem, which is heterogeneous, decentralized, and diverse. However, realizing such an ecosystem raises multiple challenges such as overcoming poor inter-operability, resource constraints, and security and privacy vulnerabilities of IoT devices and platforms. Blockchain is a Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) that can be identified as a potential solution to overcome the challenges in realizing IoT payments and marketplaces. This is due to the characteristics of blockchain such as decentralization, traceability, immutability, and non-repudiation. This paper presents a comprehensive survey on blockchainbased IoT payments and marketplaces. This paper provides a brief introduction to the concepts of IoT payments and IoT marketplaces. Then the technical challenges involved in realizing IoT payment and marketplaces are discussed by highlighting the blockchain-based solutions. Furthermore, blockchain-based smart applications which use IoT marketplace and IoT payment concepts are presented marking the role of blockchain in each of the application. Subsequently, the paper discussed the integration challenges while also highlighting possible solutions. It is envisaged that this paper would shed light on the development of blockchain-based solutions to realize IoT payments and marketplaces.

Blockchain is attracting attention as a new solution for problems such as illegal copying, profit distribution, and forgery and falsification in the digital content trading environment, which has become an essential asset in the information age. However, one problem is that it is difficult to propagate digital content to the blockchain network because of a limited capacity to upload to the blockchain. The integrity and transparency of blockchain are also considered as weak points in terms of privacy. In this paper, we propose a new blockchain system, the secret block-based blockchain (SBBC), to address the problems with the blockchain system in the digital content trading environment. SBBC is composed of off-chain and on-chain network components. Off-chain is the part that allows trading digital content through the authentication phase. The digital content that is traded has a digital fingerprint inserted, so if an illegal leak occurs, the destination can be tracked. In addition, the content is encrypted and traded, and only the rightful user can use the digital content, thus ensuring income for the legitimate content author. Next, the on-chain network is licensed to use digital content, and a verification process using a consensus algorithm is performed. The licensed consumer creates a secret block of their transaction and records it only on their ledger. In a private part, secret block creation ensures privacy and solves the network overload that can occur when uploading digital content to the blockchain. Finally, through the verification and agreement of all blockchain participants, a public block is created and recorded in the ledger to finalize the transaction. Consequently, we propose the SBBC system suitable for digital content trading environments and a safe and reliable system through a consensus algorithm in such environments.

Ecumenical carbon dioxide (CO2) emission emanates from car, bus, taxi, and motorcycle is around 45%.Electric vehicle could be the major contributor to abbreviate the pollution level in a transportation sector. According to the Forbes report the ecumenical passenger electric vehicle demand expected to reach 15% in 2025, and 23% in 2030. This research provides a blockchain predicated solution for a pre-owned electric vehicle market that could engender a trust, transparency, immutable records, and an efficient way to track the entire life cycle of a futuristic electric vehicle supply chain. At present most of the pre-owned electric conveyance purchase transpires through the third-party accommodations, websites, and mobile applications. This does not provide the authentic information on electric conveyance history, charging capabilities of the battery, history of the charging records, and performance of the driver (wear and tear affect battery life). Our solution implemented utilizing hybrid blockchain technology. Each stakeholder assigned with the Ethereum blockchain address to track the vehicle records as a distributed ledger. This design considered electric vehicle manufacturer, charging station, battery manufacturer, road convey ascendancy as major stakeholders. Astute contract designed with solidity programming. Truffle platform used to deploy keenly intellective contract in private blockchain that ascertain the privacy of electric conveyance owners and other stakeholders. Meta mask a mobile application utilized kovan network for tracking vehicle in a public blockchain. This application tested with 0.1 Ether for each transaction. Blockchain Electric Vehicle Cloud of Things (BEVCoT) concept proposed to integrate the IoT-Blockchain application in a cloud environment.
