“…Recurrent pneumonia involving a single lobe or segment, is caused by localized pathology, such as local compression, malformation or inflammation, whereas, pneumonias affecting more than one lobe, suggest a more generalized abnormality, such as mucociliary clearance dysfunction, aspiration, immunodeficiency or asthma. 11 In our study, 11.3% of admission to the hospital with a diagnosis of pneumonia met the definition of recurrent pneumonia.
