The article presents development and trends of international cooperation between three academic centers from Germany, Poland and Lithuania. The review of results of 11 conferences have been presented: exchange of experience (1986–2008), integration of academic community, support for promotional works constitute goals of these meetings. Decision‐making methods, multi‐criteria optimization and sustainability were the subject of the cooperation. All eleven colloquiums were organized by the same researchers and there were published tens of books and more than 350 scientific articles related to the mentioned colloquia. The most important scientific trends and the results achieved are examined in the paper. Santrauka Straipsnyje aptariama tarptautinio bendradarbiavimo plėtra ir tendencijos tarp trijų akademinių centrų – Vokietijos, Lenkijos ir Lietuvos, apžvelgti vienuolikos konferencijų rezultatai: patirties pasidalijimas (1986–2008), integracija į akademinę bendruomenę, parama tolesniems darbams, kertiniai susitikimų tikslai. Pagrindinė bendradarbiavimo dingstis – sprendimų priėmimo metodai, daugiakriterinis optimizavimas ir darnioji plėtra. Visi vienuolika kolokviumų buvo organizuoti tų pačių mokslininkų. Remiantis kolokviumo medžiaga buvo išspausdinta dešimtys knygų ir daugiau nei 350 mokslinių straipsnių. Čia apžvelgtos pačios svarbiausios mokslinės tendencijos ir išanalizuoti pasiekti rezultatai.

According to USA National Climatic Data Center (SOCCR [1]), the buildings sector of North America was responsible for annual carbon dioxide emissions of 671 million tons of carbon in 2003, which is 37% of total North American carbon dioxide emissions and 10% of global emissions. Other countries have similar proportions of energy-related carbon dioxide emissions. Best practices and intelligent systems utilization is a key factor in productively executing climate change mitigation in built environment. The main purpose of this paper is present the Decision Support System of Built Environment for Climate Change Mitigation which the authors of this paper have developed.

User requirement identification in building design /Identificación de los requisitos del usuario en el sector de la construcción A knowledge discovery mechanism to user requirement identification in building design Identificación de los requisitos del usuario en el sector de la construcción bajo mecanismos de descubrimiento del conocimiento Abstract The purpose of this paper is to investigate how the knowledge of real estate market can be used to support user requirement identification. A construction project well adjusted to the user requirements increase value and causes minors changes during its life cycle. As a consequence, renewal, refurbishments, and demolition are less present, reducing waste generation, reworking and material consumption. It is especially important in housing customization markets. However, one of the challenges faced by designers is frequently concerned about how properly to identify user requirements, wishes and needs, which are on the essence of the briefing phase. In this context, real estate data can be useful to designers, since it reflects the users' evaluation of the building attributes. The research strategy uses a knowledge discovery mechanism, composed by five steps: (1) formulation of a general database; (2) specific data selection using Case-Based Reasoning; (3) enrichment of data-sample; (4) development of hedonic price models using regression analysis; and (5) simulation of the value of design alternatives. Based on an application of an hedonic price model , using data from the medium-class housing market of Porto Alegre, Brazil, the main results indicate that adjusted price models have sufficient detailing and statistical precision to support decisions in the initial stage of design. Resumen El propósito de este trabajo es investigar la forma en que el conocimiento del mercado inmobiliario puede ser utilizado para ayudar a identificar los requisitos de los usuarios. Un proyecto de construcción más ajustado a las necesidades de los usuarios puede aumentar su valor y producir cambios menores durante su ciclo de vida. En consecuencia, la renovación, remodelación y demolición estarán menos presentes, reduciendo la generación de residuos, la re-construcción y el consumo de materiales. Esto es especialmente importante en los casos de personalización de la vivienda. Sin embargo, uno de los desafíos que enfrentan los diseñadores es cómo identificar adecuadamente las necesidades de los usuarios, sus deseos y necesidades, pues constituyen un factor fundamental en el proceso inicial de información. En este contexto, los modelos estadísticos de datos basados en los bienes raíces pueden ser de gran utilidad para los diseñadores, pues reflejan la evaluación que poseen los usuarios de los atributos de construcción.
