The majority of surgical pathology involved injuries and congenital problems (mainly clubfoot). The presentation was delayed in most patients, and in such cases, the treatment is more complex and costly, and the desired functional outcome is difficult to achieve. In addition to preventive measures, morbidity cases could have been reduced by the timely provision of services at the primary referral level. Strengthening the delivery of basic orthopedic services at primary health care facilities may eliminate or reduce the need for complex reconstructive procedures and diminish the likelihood of permanent disability in our population.

Abdominal mass is a common finding in children, either palpable or radiologically evident surprisingly. Some of them are rare tumors. Functional active tumors are rarely palpable but present with varied arrays of symptoms. In this series authors are discussing few rare cases with atypical presentations such as- teratoma arising from adrenal gland, teratoma presenting with hypertension, fetus in fetu (Girl and Boy child), adrenocortical tumor presenting as precocious puberty and adrenal pheochromocytoma with features of cushing’s syndrome. These atypical presentations may have pose a challenge in diagnosis and management for the treating team with first time occurrence specifically if they are handling them for first time.

Recently, there is increase in the use of natural fiber in the reinforcement of polymer composites due to its low production cost, ease of fabrication and enhanced strength. In this study, the effect of NaOH treatment on the tensile properties of coconut fibre for polyester resin transtibial prosthetic socket reinforcement was investigated. The coconut fibres were extracted using hand pulling and water retting method; NaOH treatment was used to mercerize the fibres was carried out 5% to 25% at time interval of between 30Min. to 150Min. The result indicated that the effect of NaOH treatment on the Coconut fibre vary, depending on the concentration of NaOH and the treatment time. It is concluded that treatment of Coconut fibre in 15% NaOH for 150minutes is the best treatment protocol of Coconut fibre for polyester resin reinforcement.
