“…All samples display some common absorption bands such as the broad band observed around 3435 cm À 1 related to the stretching vibration of free OH and chemisorbed water molecules on both Ni doped and free CX surfaces. The bands observed at 1737 and 2922 cm À 1 are corresponding to the stretching vibrations of C=O moieties in lactones, carboxylic and ester [21] and CÀ H bonds, [22] respectively for the CX network.
