Abstract:Obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) or sleep apnoea syndrome is a sleep disorder which is caused by obstruction of the upper airway. It is characterised by pauses (apnoea) within breathing patterns during sleep and each apnoea can last between 20 and 40 seconds at a time.
