Abstract: Diagnostic criteria for anorexia nervosa (AN) include significantly low body weight, fear of weight gain, and body image disturbance. Being severely underweight is associated with physical health risks, for example, electrolyte disturbances, epileptic seizures, cardiac arrhythmias, organ failure, and sudden death.
