Abstract-A wideband differential bandpass filter (BPF) with differential mode passband and common mode suppression is proposed and implemented on microstrip lines for wideband application in this letter. The initial BPF is similar to a single ring resonator with two unequal feed lines which have 180 • separation and T-shaped stubs are loaded on the ring resonator to form an improved one for better performances. The lengths and widths of these stubs can be adjusted to produce a highly selectivity under the differential mode and improved attenuation under the common mode. This simple, compact structure is easy for construct without any coupling structure. Finally, a microstrip differential wideband BPF is designed, simulated, fabricated, and measured. The presented differential BPF has a 3-dB fractional bandwidth (FBW) of 38% for the differential mode and insertion loss greater than 17 dB for common mode. Good agreement between simulated and measured results is obtained.

Abstract-This paper presents a six-port network over an ultrawideband (UWB) of 2-8 GHz. Its key component is the six-port junction, which consists of a Wilkinson power divider and three 3-dB quadrature couplers. This six-port junction is accomplished in a low dielectric constant substrate (Rogers RT/duroid 5880). Multi-section impedance transformation is applied in the power divider, and the quadrature coupler is realized by using two 8.34 dB couplers in tandem. An ultra-wideband operation of the six-port junction is verified by full electromagnetic simulations and measurements. The results show that the designed devices exhibit good performance across 2-8 GHz band: the return losses at input ports are higher than 15 dB, the insertion losses from input ports to the remaining ports are 7.2 dB ± 1.7 dB, the isolation between two input ports is greater than 20.5 dB, and the maximum phase difference compared with the theoretical behavior between two test ports is 10 • . For the manufactured six-port junction, a six-port phase measurement system and a calibration technique based on support vector regression (SVR) are introduced. Results show that the SVR model can achieve a mean phase error of 1.5274 • .

Abstract-In this paper, a miniaturized planar rat-race coupler is proposed to achieve arbitrary power division ratio and harmonic suppression performance simultaneously. It consists of six enhanced Tshaped line sections. The T-shaped lines can be equivalent to arbitrary electrical length lines rather than the conventional λ/4 lines. The explicit design formulas are derived and the characteristic impedances variations with the freedom variable are discussed. Simulated and experimental results show the harmonic suppression to be over −35 dB, while maintaining the conventional performance at the fundamental frequency. The circuit area of the prototype is only 30.8% of the conventional coupler.
