A Compact Planar Hexa-Band Internal Antenna for Mobile Phone

Abstract: Abstract-A planar hexa-band internal antenna designed for mobile phone applications is presented. The antenna occupying a small area of 45 × 12 mm 2 is placed on the top no-ground portion of the system circuit board with a ground-plane size of 45 × 100 mm 2 . The design begins with constructing a meandered monopole. With a parasitic and an impedance-adjustment structure subsequently added, the resulting antenna can be viewed as a printed planar inverted-F antenna with a parasitic resonant element. Two wide imp… Show more

“…In this way, it is possible to generate two signals with non-harmonical frequency ratio and with a known phase relation with the reference signal, as shown in Equations (A1) to (A8) in Appendix A. Together with the output signals of the RSOs, a sample of the reference signal is transmitted by means of a three port multi-band antenna [20][21][22][23].…”

“…Similar radiating backgrounds have been extensively analyzed in many other works [8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15], while metamaterial geometries are considered in numerous treatises and studies [16][17][18][19][20][21]. Investigations on planar structures are contained in several analyses [22][23][24][25][26][27][28] and scattering is broadly examined in works such as [29] and [30]. Semi analytical solutions are of prime importance in research regardless of the scientific domain they are referred to.…”
