Abstract:This study investigates the energy dissipation efficiency of an aircrew helmet liner developed using 3D woven honeycomb structural composites compared to different commercially available honeycomb liner materials such as Nomex, and Aluminium. In contrast to liners with discrete density differences, the use of a honeycomb-based liner reduces the concern about delamination, back face deformation and fracture propagation. The research involves comparing several parameters related to crashworthiness, such as speci… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
