A Comparative Analysis of Effective Free Trade Zone Policies in Ghana: A Model from Shanghai Free Trade Zone

Abstract: The importance of export promotion contribution to the growth of a country's economy cannot be underrated. It is well-established that, encouraging volumes of exports and/or value of exports results in the increase in the export of a country leading to an increase in earnings of foreign exchange and further results in economic boost of a country. A comparative analysis of effective Free Trade Zone Policies in Ghana using China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone ("SHFTZ") as a model has been done. Desktop researc… Show more

“…In equation (5), θ represents the missing data, θ(t) indicates the maximum point under t-times iteration, Q denotes the joint log-likelihood expectation, and E stands for When the test results conform to the normal distribution, the EM algorithm can be used to supplement the missing data. Firstly, the EM algorithm is used to estimate the parameters of missing data, then the mode is used to supplement the discrete data and retrograde data, while the E value and M value determined in the EM algorithm are used to supplement the continuous data, and thus the supplementary data are classified [28]. e open-source software R language with random Forest package is adopted to implement the RF model for the performance appraisal of cadres in the free trade zone.…”

“…FTZ is an important system innovation space to realize economic agglomeration advantage with high level opening. Previous studies on FTZ mainly focused on the institutional and policy innovation, financial internationalization, investment facilitation, trade liberalization, industrial transformation and business environment optimization, although insufficient attention was paid to the land intensive use of FTZ [1][2][3][4][5][52][53][54][55][56]. This paper quantitatively evaluates and analyses the intensive use of land in the SPFTZ, aiming to provide references for its industrial transformation and urban renewal.…”

“…It also represents a realistic need for exploring China's new path of opening up to the outside; fostering new industries, ways of doing business and new modes; building a new platform of cooperation and development with other countries; broadening the space of economic growth. In addition, it also contributes to improving the quality of regional economic development and the level of intensive utilization of land [1][2][3][4][5]. Therefore, it is of great practical significance to carry out an evaluation of the intensive use of land in the SPFTZ.…”

“…SEZs have been a vastly covered topic in academic literature; both from an economic point of view [ 1 – 6 ] than one of organization of territory [ 3 , 7 – 9 ]. The historical evolution of SEZs has been accompanied by several changes [ 10 – 12 ] resulting in a wide variety of tools; these differ on a technical - operational level, and the purpose they are intended for [ 12 ].…”
