Abstract:Background: Melasma, derived from the Greek word "melas" meaning "black", manifests as an acquired, more or less symmetrical hypermelanosis of sun-exposed skin. This study aimed to compare and evaluate the efficacy and safety of intradermal injection of tranexamic acid and platelet-rich plasma in treating various types of melasma.
