The present study was carried out to assess the anti-diabetic activity of the methanolicleaf extract of the plant in streptozotocin induced diabetes induced rats .The methanolic extract of leaves shoed significant oral glucose tolerance at 200mg/kg body weight, which is conducted in their labs.Study on Anti-inflammatory activity is done, the methanolic extract of A.leptopus have shown strong inhibitory action against xanthine oxidase. A bioassay -guided isolation scheme using an in-vitro assay for the inhibition of xanthine oxidase was employed and anti-inflammatory effect was observed. Antimicrobial activity evaluated , invitro antimicrobial activity of crude hexane , ethyl acetate and aqueous leaf extract of Antigonon leptopus . This activity of crude extracts of A.leptopus was determined using Agar well diffusion method. The results of invitro antimicrobial activity showed that hexane, ethyl acetate and aqueous leaf extracts were active on all microbial strains. Analgesic activity of A.leptopus was evaluated of methanolic extract of leaves of A.leptopus (200 and 400 mg/kg) by hot plate and acetic acid writhing response in mice. The study was done to evaluate the cytotoxic effect of A.leptopus. The study results in dose dependent cytotoxic effect of chloroform extract of whole plant against two cell lines i.e. A-549 and CHOK 1. Antigonon leptopus also been evaluated for showing Anthelmintic activity the outcomes demonstrated that the ethyl acetate and methanol concentrates of A.leptopus altogether displayed paralysis in dosage (10,20,40 and 80 mg/ml) and further caused death of worms. Antigonon leptopus is a medicinal plant used in Cadmium induced hepatotoxicity for this study Male wistar albino rats taken which cadmium induced and methanolic extracts of A.leptopus at daily doses of 100,200,and 400 mg/kg for 21 days ,results showed that A.leptopus have shown protective action.Antioxidant effect has also shown by A.leptopus, Antioxidant efficacy of A.leptopus flower extract was performed byDPPH method Absorbance was measured in triplicate at 517nm using Butylated hydroxytolune (BHT) as a reference standard for comparison. The results shown that the ethanolic extract of Antigonon leptopus tested for their antioxidant activity by DPPH method and the extract shown the radicle scavenging activity .The plant reported to possess various bioactivities such Antidiabetic, Anti-inflammatory, Antimicrobial, Antioxidant, Analgesic, Cytotoxic , Hepatoprotective activity. Information gathered from this extensive literature survey indicates the potential ethnomedicinal applications of A.leptopus and the possible utilisation of the plant to develop pharmaceutical agents for disease therapy.
