A comprehensive review on green buildings research: bibliometric analysis during 1998–2018

Abstract: Buildings account for nearly 2/5ths of global energy expenditure. Due to this figure, the 90s witnessed the rise of green buildings (GBs) that were designed with the purpose of lowering the demand for energy, water, and materials resources while enhancing environmental protection efforts and human well-being over time. This paper examines recent studies and technologies related to the design, construction, and overall operation of GBs and determines potential future research directions in this area of study. “…By showing the interactions between the groups and individual working groups, SNA can show key information about the research, such as the overall activity of collaborations among the countries, authors, and institutions. 47 By evaluating these networks using Social Network Analysis (SNA), we can learn more about how people are connected, and more crucially, how information flows. This is important for boosting research communication and knowledge activation.…”

“…In 1991, Brenda and Robert Weil proposed the definition of green building for the first time. In contrast to Paul Solerui's arcology, Brenda Weir and Robert Weir's green building concept takes climate, environment and energy into overall consideration in the architectural design [24][25][26]. Green building evaluation is a revolution and enlightenment movement in the field of architecture, and its significance extends far beyond energy saving.…”
