Cotton textiles tinting of by direct and reactive dyes using consumption method has been done by nanoparticles technicality. Gadolinium doped Zinc oxide nanoparticles (Gd 3+ /ZnO) were successfully coated onto the surface of the cotton fabrics. ZnO and (Gd 3+ /ZnO) nanoparticles are synthesized by precipitation method. The morphology, microstructure and functional groups were characterized for both of them through Xray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) , energy-dispersive analysis X-ray spectra (EDX), and FTIR spectroscopy. The diameter distribution of ZnO and (Gd 3+ /ZnO) nanoparticles were confirmed by (TEM) analysis, the average size of particles was found to be 100 nm, 50 nm respectively .The dye exhaustion percentage (E%) and color strength (K/S) of direct orange 85 and reactive red 195 onto treated cotton fabrics is generally better than that obtained by using untreated samples under the same conditions. The overall fastness properties to rubbing, light, perspiration, washing for the colored samples are ranging from very good to excellent. Nano treatment improves the cotton surface and decreases the environmental impacts and fabric damage.

A novel series of thiazolo[5,4‐b]pyridine, polysubstituted pyridines, pyrazolo [3,4‐b] pyridine‐5‐carbonitriles, and polyhydroquinoline were synthesized via one‐pot reaction of 2‐iminothiazolidin‐5‐one, acetyl pyridine, pyrazolone, and/or cyclohexanone with various aldehydes, some active methylene and ammonium acetate in the presence of ceric ammonium nitrate (CAN). The resulting compounds were generated in high yields in a short amount of time, and the structures of the novel compounds were confirmed using IR, 1H NMR, 13C‐NMR, and mass spectra. The cytotoxic activity of 15 substances was tested in vitro against HePG‐2 and Caco‐2 cell lines. The results of antitumor assay confirmed that quinoline 12d compounds possess higher cytotoxic activity against two cell lines closed to doxorubicin, which is used as a standard anticancer drug. Also, 12c compounds are more efficient antitumor against the 2‐cell lines. While compounds 1 showed moderate activity toward Caco‐2. On the other hand, most of the tested compounds exhibited moderate to low cytotoxic activity toward the two cell lines. Based on the results, some of the newly synthesized derivatives showed excellent antitumor activity that qualified them for biomedical applications.

The printing of polyester (PET) fabrics using binders and disperse dyes is an environmentally less harmful technique due to the exclusion of water‐intensive washing processes. Unfortunately, the conventional polyacrylate (PA) binders are inapplicable for this printing technique as the high PA‐disperse dye compatibility restrains the migration of disperse dye molecules from binder films into PET fabrics. Herein, we demonstrate a rational design and synthesis of novel PA binders by copolymerizing fluorosilicone monomers with multi‐vinyl groups for the sustainable printing of PET fabrics. The incorporated fluorosilicone functionalities significantly decrease the solubility parameter of PA, facilitating the dye molecules migration toward PET fabrics. Meanwhile, the crosslink structure formed via vinyl groups restrains the migration of polymer chains and thus allows for the anchor of F/Si segments, enabling the continuous migration of disperse dyes. As a result, both the utilization ratio of disperse dyes and the color yield and fastness of printed PET fabrics are substantially improved. Moreover, the washing‐free printing process using the developed binder can reduce 73% of water consumption, 74% of energy input, and 100% of wastewater discharge over the traditional printing process. Our study may provide insights into rational design of binders for the sustainable printing of PET fabrics.
