Entrepreneurship is sometimes seen as a glimmer of hope which may bring about some contribution towards improving economic dynamics and performance, specifically in the creation of employment by young people, in general, with further educational training, greater flexibility and who are better prepared for working with new technologies. However, entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector is, in certain circumstances, viewed as being something incompatible or, at least, difficult to implement. More scientific studies in these fields could provide interesting contributions on the road to highlighting new ideas inside the farming sector. In this framework, the objective of this study is to explore the entrepreneurship dimensions within the European Union agriculture towards a more sustainable sector. In fact, without an economic dimension in farm management, its sustainability in the medium and long run may be compromised, increasing the abandonment of farming, namely in more disadvantaged regions. For this, the literature which is available on the platform Web of Science relating to the following three topics was initially analysed: entrepreneurship, agriculture, and the European Union. This literature was clustered through the VOSviewer software, an interesting tool for performing bibliometric analysis. Secondly, statistical information related to European Union agricultural entrepreneurship considering empirical approaches was also explored. The analysis carried out shows that the realities across European Union countries are, in fact, different, where the instruments from the common agricultural policies, for example, may play a crucial role in promoting more farming entrepreneurship in a more sustainable way.

The current article details the impact of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), particularly the impact of each CAP reform on agricultural production and the rural economy in the region of Eastern Macedonia-Thrace (EMT), Greece, done via an econometric approach employing Factor Analysis techniques and Structural Equation Model. Detailed qualitative and quantitative data were obtained through structured questionnaires completed during in-depth interviews of the scientific staff working in regional agriculture and were subsequently used to build a Structural Equation Model. This scientific work was undertaken twice, each time following successive CAP reforms, in order to evaluate immediate impact, not only on the Local Economy, but the continuing regional Local Development. Following the comparison of the two successive reforms SEMs, a series of sectoral comparisons of the two reforms was undertaken to clarify the differences between the two specific reforms.It is concluded that the 2003 reform has had a negative impact on the local EMT economy compared to the 2014 reform, which appears to have contributed more favourably to the local economy and regional development, with Land Value-Purchase, Land Value-Hire, Product processing, Labour hands (harvesting, standardization, packaging etc) and Purchase of inputs (pesticides, fertilizers, supplies, etc.) being the local economy sectors that have responded positively to the second reform.

Sci., 63: 393-400.The strong market competition forces forest owners to find innovative approaches to forest management, and business models are becoming integral parts of successful innovations and business strategies. This paper deals with the applicability of a business model (as an innovation tool) for small forest owners. The main objectives were to design a business model applicable in the forestry sector and to find the innovative business alternatives for the small-scale forest owner reflecting the local situation (in a case study in the Czech Republic). The extended business model CANVAS was used. The embedded data was evaluated on the software developed at the Savonia University in Finland where business opportunity and competitive advantage were the main evaluation criteria. As a result, a proposed strategy was advised to be followed. The biggest added value of the extended CANVAS model is giving an objective and unbiased evaluation of the situation of small forest owners. The business model design proved a usable and applicable tool to be used in forest management, for the research has shown that the quantitative data should be complemented by qualitative research in order to get the complex view.
