A Coupled Gas Flow-Mechanical Damage Model and Its Numerical Simulations on High Energy Gas Fracturing

Abstract: High-energy gas fracturing (HEGF) and gas fracturing (GF) are considered to be efficient to enhance the permeability of unconventional gas reservoir. The existing models for HEGF mainly focus on the dynamic loading of stress wave or static loading of gas pressurization, rather than on the combined actions of them. Studies on the combination of HEGF and GF (HEGF+GF) are also few. In this paper, a damage-based stress wave propagation-static mechanical equilibrium-gas flow coupling model is established. Numerical… Show more

“…The GNSS-R altimeter opens up a new method of the sea surface altimeter. Since monitoring the changes of the sea level is very important to human society, especially the residents living in coastal areas and islands, the development of GNSS-R altimeter technology has a very significant importance and practical value for production and life (Bai et al 2020).…”

“…Through optimization of the design of the charge structure, the pressure rise time, pressure peak, and pressure action process can be accurately controlled. A multistage gas stratum can be fractured at the same time to produce multiple fractures and to communicate with the natural fractures in the coal seam to increase production …”

“…The numerical model of the physically similar simulated mine was established using FLAC3D, which is software for threedimensional (3D) explicit finite difference simulations. The model was defined to satisfy the Mohr-Coulomb damage criterion (Wu et al, 2018;Yu and Duan, 2021;Bai et al, 2020). In Table 1, the parameters and boundary conditions of the physical and mechanical properties of each rock stratum are presented, which were used in similar simulation experiments.…”
